Recently

Recently there has been a lot of rain. I just came back from Shanghai two days ago, it has rained in Shanghai all the time of my stay; When I came back to Germany, it has been raining all the time for the last few days. I love raining days! In Germany the rainfall spread evenly throughout the year. In China it happens often that it doesn't rain at all in winter, and in summer it rains non-stop for days. That's why almost every summer there are flood disasters in some areas.

Recently we are also dealing with moving from Frankfurt to Nuernberg. We are going to move next month. We have made this decision when Martin got a new job offer in Nuernberg. I am very much looking forward to move. Even though I hate to pack cartons, as I used to move numerous in my life. This time I want to move into a new environment. I have been living in Offenbach since I came to Germany. The city is not so bad, but I prefer not to live in a city where many foreigners live. Germans call Offenbach as "little Istanbul". When I am living in Germany, I want to live in a city with Germans and German cultures. Another reason for me to happy to move is living in Nuernberg will be more convenient for us to visit my parents-in-law and friends. It will be very close to Martin's work place, then he doesn't have to drive one hour to work as before. For me it will be also closer to my base.

Here is a photo from outside of the window in our new apartment in Nuernberg-the sunset. We almost packed everything in Offenbach. Packing is an exhausting work. Martin was tired and I could hardly find him in the cartons.

Ich hoffe, dass euer Umzug reibungslos verläuft und ihr euch in Nürnberg wohlfühlen werdet.

  3. Yes, this was another nice post to enjoy reading.

All nice things to you and Martin in your new home. It does sound a good advantage all around, and I appreciate what you mean in wanting to live beyond a foreigner's quarter.

Good shot of Martin buried in the packing, too ;)

    Regards,
    Clive

  4. Nürnberg, that sounds like a good place to settle. And a lot of German history there, the good and and the worst of it. Was there only once.
